Party Week!

We have had a fab week. It's been Olly's 6th birthday and he requested a Master Yoda card so I trawled the internet until I came up with this image which I coloured, added some glitter and put on a card for my little fella.

I made this one from big brother Tom....

Thankfully he loved them both! After a party for 50 of his closest friends (oh to be 6 again eh!) I needed something relaxing so I turned to scrapbooking.....

I got together with my friend Linzi and we had a go at doing our first scrapbook page without any help. We are a good combination Linzi and I, I have been going on my scrapbook course and had a little knowledge but couldn't get started, Linzi is new to it all and got stuck right in! So together we had a great morning sticking and cutting. This is what I came up with.

I am pleased with it and am now trawling through our photos so that I can do more!

A few friends have also approached me about doing Christmas Cards so I thought that I should come up with some more ideas.

The card above has been put through the Cuttlebug, I then brushed over it with my silver ink pad and then added glamour dust. I did the sentiment on the computer.

The image on this card is a stamp from Inkadinkado which I mounted onto mirri board and added a bit of bling.
Hope you are all having a fantastic week!

Nice and Cosy Indoors!

OOh its horrid outside today, it has been raining all day! But I am nice and cosy indoors and am loving this autumn weather although I can't say that the dog is too impressed!

Its my sister- in- laws birthday on the same day as Olly's next week so I have been busy making her cards so that I can pop them in the post.

I have actually glittered the background paper as well as the image but its not coming out so well on this dull day, believe me, its there! Image and paper is from Pink Petticoat.

I also needed to make a card from the boys so used this microsoft image and added some lovely ribbon that I found in a card shop near to where I live.

I put the TV on this morning and watched a program about the Artic and polar bears and that christmasy feeling came upon me so I made a couple more christmas cards.

I got my delivery of the new I-Top tool yesterday from Crafts U Love and used some of the background paper to make a little brad to finish the card off. I can see me using this alot in the future as its so simple and you get a perfect match to your papers!

This is my first go at a gatefold card, the image is from the Digi Stamp Boutique along with the Father Christmas one used above. I have added some glitter although you can't see it too well at the moment!

Yesterday I joined in on my first blog hop with a Passion for Promarkers. It was for the chance to win the new Promarkers colours that have just come out. It was great fun and lovely to see all the talented design teams cards so if you have a moment, grap yourself a cuppa and have a look!

Have a fantastic week, what ever the weather!

Busy Week!

Its been a really busy but lovely week. I have had my first scrapbook lesson at Sugar and Spice Crafts in Barleylands craft village. It was brilliant, this is what we made.

I can't wait for next week and have definately got the scrapbooking bug. I start a photography course in two weeks with a friend and we are both looking forward to making more of our photos using scrapbooks.

The kids have also gone back to school and have settled in well, Tom is now at the local grammar school, I am so proud of him and he has settled in well. Olly has settled in well too and been a good boy but is not impressed with the amount of work you have to do in Year 1!

Both in different uniforms now, seems strange not to have them at school together!

My husband and I also celebrated our 14th Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday although we have been together since we were 16! Still going strong, although there was a dodgy moment when I said that his card would not be ready until that evening!

Obviously it had to be handmade and he also said he hoped that it would be a good one, pressure eh! Thankfully he loved it so here's to the next 14 years!

Its Ollys 6th birthday next week and his best friends birthday three days before so I am now trying to do a Star Wars Card and Spongebob Square Pants Card, should be fun!

Have a great weekend all!

My Little Crafting Companion

Well my eldest son Tom has settled into senior school and I have been lucky enough to have a couple of extra days with my little one, Olly before he starts school tomorrow. The little fella seems to have caught the crafting bug as he keeps asking to make cards, so we have settled into the craft room and happily played away with bits of paper, glue and bling of course! Olly made this wonderful creation for me.

These stick ons are from Papermania, Olly also has another card in progress which he has punched holes in and glued on flowers and glitter, I honestly think he is going to be better at this than me! Whilst helping him look through my stash of all things glittery I managed to make my first christmas card with an image downloaded from the DigiStamp Boutique.

I think he is so cute, the papers were a free downloaded from Funky Fairys Papercraft which is another brilliant digi site the link for the papers is here.

I also have a friends birthday coming up so I started to think of gift bags for a few little stamps that I have got her to go along with her main present.

I have used my cricut machine and the Tags, Bags and Boxes cartridge to cut out the templates and then glued them together and added some simple embellishments.

I enjoy making these and have started to think about what I can do for Christmas as my husband has seven sisters and we usually give gift vouchers and chocolates to each of them . This year I would like to make them something a bit special so I will work my way through this cartridge until I find something unique for each of them, watch this space!

Has anyone else started making christmas cards yet? All the craft sites I look at seem to be full of organised people starting their christmas cards, its making me a bit panicky!

Hope you all have a great week, I'm off to enjoy my last day with Olly!

My First Challenge!

My friend Stephanne has become a guest designer for Kellie's Monthly Sketch Challenge so I thought I would have a go at this month's challenge which has some great Motivet Stamps on offer. The Sketch looks like this.

I have never entered a challenge before and have no idea what I am doing but this is what I came up with.

The stamp is from Dimension Fourth and I have paper pieced some parts of the bear and coloured in others. The background paper is taken from an Artylicious CD-Rom by Glenda Waterworth which has some lovely patterns on it. I finished up with one made flower and one from my stash and a charm.

I just have to work out how to add it onto Kellie's Blog now!

Have a great week!

A Craft Room at Last!

We have come back from our lovely holiday and rather than feel the usual post holiday blues I am actually really excited because my lovely hubby has said that I can move all of my crafting stuff into the dining room which we never use! I think he was getting a bit fed up with the mess in the family room and at least I can close the door on the dining room and he won't have to look at it!

So this week we got the old dining room table out of storage, and I moved all of my stuff in (and ordered a few more bits of course because now I have more room to store it). I was even treated to a new computer and printer (hadn't realised he was that keen for the mess to disappear or I would have asked earlier!)

Anyway what with that and the kids still being on summer holidays I have not had a great deal of time to make cards this week. I needed to make some for a couple for friends so I made some really quick ones up on the computer. Cheating I know and not alot of talent involved, but I like how they turned out none the less.

The first card is for my hubby to say thankyou.

The next one is for my friend and her hubby who celebrate their wedding anniversary soon.

There is actually some glitter dust around the heart but it has not come out very clearly on the photo. This one is for one of my dear friends who was wearing a scarf that I really liked so she bought me one.

I did add a little glitter dust to some of the petals, the card looks more striking than on the photo. Finally I was looking through the images on Microsoft and found this kind of tribal image and wondered how it would work for a teenage boys birthday card.

This was the result. I added a bit of bling for his eyes too. I quite like it, my son who is two years off being a teenager liked it so I may keep it in mind.

Finally we had grandad over for fish and chips on Friday and he looked really well. We had a lovely evening with him and the kids were really excited to see him. He was saying that he looks in on my blog so I just would like to say hi to grandad!

I am off to look blog hop with a quick cup of tea before we head of to my sister-in-laws for a family get together. Have a great week all!

Blog Awards Thanks to Stephanne xx

I am still on my hols at the moment but as it is raining I thought that I would do a spot of blog hopping and saw that I have received two blog awards from my friend Stephanne.

I wish I could pass these awards back to this talented lady who has taught me so much over the last few months with her beautiful cards, perfect colouring in and sense of humour! Definately a blog to check out on a rainy day such as this, please take a look yourselves. Thanks again Stephanne. I will forward these awards on to someone else on my return from holiday.

Enjoy your week! Tracey x
