Beautiful Orange

Last week I was at Sugar and Spice taking a class with Nina and she told us that we would be making a card with one of Marion's new stamps called Chevrons.  She got out some orange paper, ribbon and felt and I thought 'Oh No!'

I would never dream of making a card in orange, I don't have anything against the colour, its just not one of the safe colours I use in card making. And this is why the class is so good, because it makes you use things you perhaps wouldn't usually and you may even find that you like it!

I love Marion's new stamp which was also stamped in orange, its great for scrapbooking and card making and very trendy at the moment. Check it out here.

We cut some felt hearts and glued them to paperclips with a hot glue gun.

Beautiful ribbon tied to a paperclip...

Another heart, these can be taken off and used as bookmarks.

I love this card, it has encouraged me to be a bit more daring with my use of colour. Who wouldn't be cheered by a lovely bright card like this!

Quick Thank You Cards

My youngest son had his 9th birthday a few weeks ago and after going to the cinema with four friends, having tea at home with a chocolate fountain and a sleepover (where they stayed up until 2.30 am until I sat in a corner of the bedroom until they stopped talking!) he had to write his Thank You cards!

I bought some from a shop (shame on me!) but unfortunately some got a bit smudged and some were too messy to send so instead of going out any buying another packet I decided to make some.

I used a digikit by Lauren Grier from Sweet Shoppe Designs, I can't find a link so I think it may be retired. 

I added some 3D eyes and added glossy accents.

Such fun and so easy to make, it took me less time than going to the shops to get another packet of cards!

And birthday boy like them too!

Washi Tape Goodness

Well it has been a long long time since I last posted, the summer holidays have been and gone and the kids are back to school. I've finished all the catch up jobs that got lost along the way during the holidays and booked myself back into my Wednesday creative class with Nina at Sugar and Spice.

This week was Washi Tape and we made a beautiful flower.

We made the Stamen (yes Nina Stamen!) with some thin wire and some beads and then shaped the petals and leaves and covered them with washi tape.

I had a lovely time doing this class, the flower turned out so well that I will have to make more!

I think I am going to have to hunt around for more Washi tape storage!

L' Amour

I cannot believe how long it has been since I last blogged! I guess its because I really haven't made anything! The kids are off for the summer now and we are spending time with friends and chilling out.

I have been saving bits and pieces to add to my scrapbook pages but for now I thought I would show you a page that I created in Sam Ball's class at my Scrapagogo retreat a few years ago.

I love the colours and the pretty papers on this page and I love the photo of my two fellas laughing at each other!

A Card for All Occasions

Hi all and welcome to my new followers. It's been ages since I last posted, we are having some work being done on the house so not much creating going on at the moment just making lots of teas for builders and writing my name in the dust!


I made a few cards with a gorgeous stamp from Prima last year and it was so versatile I made some more in different colours using Distress Inks.

The Perfect Partner for the Smash Book

This is my new partner in crime for Smash Booking, the Polariod Pogo.

Its small, portable, runs on Zink Technology (Zero Ink so no cartridges), runs off Li-ion rechargebale batteries and prints sticky back photos in 60 Seconds that are dry to touch and waterproof as soon as they come out!

If you have an android phone you can print direct to the printer via bluetooth but NOT if you have an I-Phone as the bluetooth is not capable of linking with a Pogo. You would need to go via your computer's bluetooth or print or by using Pictbridge via your camera if it supports it. More information can be found on Amazon here.

Here I have printed via bluetooth from my mac a pretty little bird photo.

Some primula's that I photographed on my i-phone printed via my mac the quality is not bad at all!

Some other photos that I took with my I-phone and have printed via my mac, some funny painted eggs that I saw in Canary Wharf on my birthday, they were massive!

With I-Cloud all photos taken with my I-Phone are automatically transferred onto my Mac and PC so printing onto the Pogo is easy. It would be great for taking on holiday where you can take your photo, print it and put it into your Smash Book straight away!

My tiny Chef

Hi all and welcome to my newest follower Crafty Nic, thanks for becoming a follower!

Since he was about six my little fella has said that he wants to be a chef when he is older. I think I may have posted about this before, luckily he has his fathers cooking skills and not mine so he may stand a chance to fulfil his dreams!

This page was perfect for a photo of the two fella's cooking together, hubby is a 'throw it in and see how it turns out' kind of cook and it always turns out good. I am a 'copy the recipe exactly' cook but sometimes its still hit and miss!

The page was created in Sheena Rowlands class at my last Scrapagogo Retreat, we used a set of cutlery and sprayed onto the paper using misting sprays to leave the impression of the cutlery.

We used cute little paper doilies and a bow for embellishment. I really enjoyed this class and it was lovely and relaxing!

I am having a lovely chill out day with my boys today as hubby is on an offsite in Paris. Have a great weekend all!
