What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday!

Thanks to everyone for their comments last week, I appreciate you taking the time to visit.  This is my desk this week, its fairly tidy.

I went to a scrapbook crop on Friday and started a page with this photo of my son who decided to cover himself in stickers when he was younger. I thought I would try to finish it off today. I am going to add some thread through the buttons on the paper and some other bits to finish it off.

I also found this when we were at our craft village on the weekend...

It was only £19 so I had to have it! My little boy said he thought I should keep paper in the bottom and my 'pretty things' as he calls it in the top. Any other suggestions?

We are on holiday next week so I won't be able to take a photo of my desk, if I can get online I will send you one Italy instead. If not enjoy the one year anniversary challenge!

Pop over to our host Julia's blog to have a good look round everyone elses desk. I look forward to having a look around your desks today, have a great week!

A Fab Weekend

Hubby has gone on a fishing trip to France for a week so it was just me and the kids this weekend and we made the most of the weather! We went to Barleylands Farm and Craft Village in Billericay and I took loads of photos of them having fun. I use Picasa 3 for my photo editing and was having a play around with it and made this collage of the photos I took that day.

I may even use this for some quick scrapbook pages too and my youngest has taken it in to school for show and tell today.

It's my Mother-in-Law's birthday this week and I made this card from the boys to give to her with a lovely butterfly stamp that I bought from Hero Arts.

I stamped the image in blue ink onto a blue wash paper. I mounted it onto some navy card and then mounted this with 3d foam pads onto white linen cardstock. I then printed a digi paper for the background and mounted this onto navy cardstock.

I then embellished the butterfly with crystals and pearls.

Let me know what you think, its always good to hear your comments and suggestions. Have a great week!

My Second Nephew's Card and some Challenges.

I have just finished making my other new Nephew's card and gift box and have used another digital image from this set from 2 Peas in a Bucket.

The Stork has been re-sized in publisher to fit my card and I added a frame around the outside edge from the same kit, this was printed onto white hammered cardstock. I then layered my image onto some navy cardstock and then layered this with 3d foam pads onto light blue card.

I decoupaged the stork and the baby in it's little bundle and added glamour dust to them to give them a bit of sparkle. I also added a bit of bling for the stork's eye.

As with the card in my previous post, I have made a box to keep the card in which I printed with another digital paper from the kit and added another stork image. I did the same with the envelope that we are giving them with a voucher to buy some baby goodies! The insert was also made the same as the card in my previous post with the frame and some digi papers.

I have only ever entered one challenge before but today I am going to enter this into two challenges! It must be all the excitement of being an Aunty!

Lucy's Cards Challenge is to make a card with a digital element, I think I have that one covered so check out Lucy's challenge here. I have got alot of inspiration from her cards, and love her designs.

The other challenge I am going to enter is Dare U to Digi Stamp where the challenge is One for the Boy's. With two nephews born in one week I have definately had my fix of boys cards and have loved every minute of making them.  Check out the Dare U to Digi Stamp challenge here for lots of inspiration and ideas!

Ah well I am going to try to link my post to these challenges now, apologies in advance it I make a hash of it!

Have a wonderful weekend in the lovely sunshine!

An Auntie Again!

Hi all, following yesterdays post I am please to say that I am an Auntie for the second time this week! My nephew Lewis, was born today weighing exactly 7 lbs and all is well!

I can't believe my luck at having two new nephews in one week! However I wasn't so lucky in finding the stamp that I wanted to use to make my first sister-in-laws card but as it happens I think things turned out for the best as I went digi instead!

Some weeks ago I bought this kit from 2 Peas in a Bucket. I have used Microsoft Publisher to size and print the element on the front as although I am doing a Photoshop course at college, I still have no idea what I am doing!

I re-sized my image and printed it on to some lovely hammered white card twice. I then decoupaged some of the layers and added some little gems. The finished piece was then mounted to to some navy cardstock and then matted onto some light blue cardstock with 3d foam pads.

The sentiment was typed on Publisher in my favourite font, I changed the colour to blue and printed directly onto white hammered cardstock.

I used a digi image from the kit to make a frame for the insert for the card.

Finally I made a small box to send the card in with a matching digi image on the front.

Well that's one card made, now I have to think of something else for my second sister-in-law!  Have a great week everyone and let me know what you think!

Whats on Your Work desk Wednesday!

Hi all, thanks so much for all your lovely comments last week!  I'm going to be quick as I have a massive crisis in that I have just become an Auntie and had planned what card I wanted to make and now my nephew Freddie is born I can't find the blooming stamp!

This is my desk today..

Stamping stuff at the ready and a notebook with details of the cards I need to make.  I have gone from being relatively quiet to really busy on the card making front, plus I became an Aunty on Sunday and will be an Aunty for the second time hopefully tomorrow when one of my other sister in law's is induced!

I am sooo excited and so longing for a snuggle with the little fella! Anyway I have picked out some baby feet stamps and teddy bear stamps to make the cards and now am off to look for the one I really wanted but cannot find! Always the way eh!

I have one piece of storage to show you, I picked this pickling jar up from Steamer Trading it was about £1.40 and I liked the ceramic lid on it.

And it has made a lovely little home for my buttons, so now I have six of them!

If you have no idea what WOYWW is then where have you been?  Pop over to our lovely host Julia's blog to find out and join in the fun!

I am off for a cuppa with my friends at the cafe in the next road to mine so will come and have a nose round your desks this afternoon and if anyone finds my stamp, let me know!

Playing with Distress Inks

Hi all, I hope that you are having a good weekend and that the weather is being kind to you! I did a bit of colouring in this week...

I have bought a few of the Rangers Distress Inks and been having a go at using them for colouring with a tree stamp that I have bought from Hero Arts.

I stamped the image on white cardstock and have distressed the edges very slightly. I have used different backing card to my main favourite of white and added some bling to the middle of the flowers. I quite like the way they have turned out so of course I am now going to have to buy more colours, always an excuse eh?

We went shopping yesterday and I managed to get to one of my very favourite shops, Paperchase and bought this fabric journal

Isn't it cute! Trouble is there was another really nice one there so I had to buy that too!

Now if only I was talented enough to make my own!

Have a great week and let me know what you have been upto this weekend!

Whats on Your Work Desk Wednesday?

Hi all, I am going to make my posts on WOYWW shorter as there are so many of us to get round to!  This is my desk today..

I have recently bought some Distress Inks and am trying out colouring with them, the card on my desk is my first attempt, I definately need more practice!

The scrapbook pages for my son's bedroom are finished, this is the one I was working on last week. The cars are all glittered although you can't see that on the photo and of course everything needed to sit flat as its actually a poster frame with an acrylic screen to stop him picking bits off it!

And here is the one that I made before that, they are now hanging side by side on his bedroom wall.

I have bought another little storage item for my craft room, I will be running out of room soon!

I think that this is supposed to me for hanging necklaces, but I thought it was perfect for hanging my extra special embellishments so that I don't forget to us them!

Finally the butterflies have all been set free, my son took them to school last Thursday and all the children let them out in the woodland garden. So that leaves me to tell you what we are making next...

Yes Ladybirds! Although not until after half term as we are going away so we will start on them when we get back!

Hop over to Julia's blog and let us know whats on your work desk today!

Have a great week!

Some Scrapbooking!

Hi all, I hope you are all having a great week! This week I have had some time to do some scrapbooking which is a relatively new thing for me. I wanted to create some pages to show my Halloween photos over the past few years.

I printed some free digital papers from the fantasic Summer Driggs's blog onto card using my A3 printer and cut them to make a square which due to the size of A3 paper, means the measurments are just a little under the usual 12 by 12.

I cut some lettering and some owls on my Cricut Story Book Cartridge and cut round some embossed spiders and bats from my Sizzix embossing folders.

There are a some elements that come with these papers so I printed them off and cut them out, inked around the edges and added some ribbon. I also added some glamour dust to the cobwebs to give them a bit of sparkle.

Check out Summer's blog for more fantastic papers. She is a very talented lady!

I don't mind the Rain!

Hi friends, I hope you are all enjoying the weekend no matter what the weather! It has been overcast and rainy today but I have had such a lovely day all tucked up in my craft room so I really didn't mind!

I went to a scrapbook crop on Friday and got so into what I was doing that I couldn't wait to sit down today and managed three layouts and finished off another one. The light is too bad for me to photograph them now but hopefully I will be able to share them tomorrow. I have ordered a photography tent online and hope that soon I will be able to take good photographs whatever the time of day!

The party season seems to have started in abundance for my youngest son again so I have made some really quick cards from my Pink Petticoat downloads again.  I made a few of these which was good as I used up all my scraps.

I did some quick faux stitching round the edges too.

And the images were all pre-coloured on the computer to save time.

Tra

And yes I have managed one for the girls!

I hope that you all have a fab weekend!

Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday!

Hello all! Firstly I would like to thank everyone that commented last week, I nearly made it around to everyone but ran out of time eventually! This is what's on my desk today.

I am still trying to finish the scrapbook page for my son's bedroom, he has chosen his photographs and I am now trying to do something with them, here is a bit of a close up.

It looks a little bare at the moment but hopefully by the end of today it will look a little better!

We went away this weekend to our caravan in Battle in Sussex. It is really pretty there, here are some shots of Battle Abbey just down the road, where the Battle of Hastings was fought in 1066.

You can walk all around the Abbey and over the fields where the Battle took place and a couple of times a year they have re-inactments of the Battle with people all dressed up in costume and on their horses and have a bit of a skirmish, the kids dress up too and absolutely love it!

The village is very quaint, here is the sweet shop, where you still buy your sweets out of the jar, the kids have been here alot too!

A Butterfly update............they have emerged!!!!!  We have five beautiful butterflies!

This is the best shot I managed to get, unfortunately they decided to come out of their cocoons whilst we were away but it was very exciting to see them when we came home.  They are kept in this..

And my youngest son is picking flowers for them and feeding them sugared water in a bowl, it has been so interesting for the whole family to watch, we will definately be doing this again. This weekend we will set them free so I hope to be quick enough to get a couple of photos of that too.

Anyway that's enough of my ramblings, I am off to have a bit of a tidy, my friends are coming round tonight for some pasta and a natter and wine of course!

If you haven't heard of WOYWW then check out Julia's blog to see what it's all about. I will be catching up with you all later!

Have a wonderful week!
