What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday!

It's What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday so hop over to Julia's blog to delve into the darkest corners of other peoples craft rooms and make new friends along the way.

I am lacking in ideas at the moment for card I am making for a friend so my desk is not a pretty sight. I have made a card, but don't think it is quite right so this morning I am going to have another attempt.

So today I thought I would show you some of the storage ideas I have in my craft room as they are far more organised that my desk at the moment!

I have bought yet another cake stand which fits all my Martha punches in just right, do you think Martha would approve?

I also recently bought this cute little basket for keeping some of my tools as it looks so tidy!

This little basket contains some threads that I got a few weeks ago from a shop called The Works in our High Street, they were really cheap about £2 I think!

I also found this in a local home accessories shop, I think it is to hold photos but could also display your cards for photographing etc

Finally, Julia commented on her bling storage, I must admit I do like alot of bling so have some special bits hanging up but have my everyday bits in this box that a friend brought me.

It came with a mug which now holds my cup of tea but the box is the perfect size for my little sparkles and pearls!

Caterpillar update for those that are interested, they have turned into cocoons so have now been transferred to the butterfly garden. They haven't hatched yet but hopefully next week I shall have butterfly photo's for you!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and can't wait to go and have a look whats on your work desk today.

Some Cards from Pink Petticoat

Hi bloggers, I hope that that you had a great weekend and enjoyed some of the lovely warm sunshine that was out for a while!  Since the kids have been back at school I have quickly made some more cards with downloads from Pink Petticoat as my card stash was getting low!

This card was made using the Big Fella downloads which actually include a Kraft style paper which prints off very well. My sewing machine and I are no longer talking so I added some faux stitching around the edge of the card and embossed a star from a CuttleBug folder and added some buttons.

Fathers Day in the UK is very near my husband's birthday so I always feel rushed making Fathers Day cards because I want to get his birthday cards just right. I thought I would make a start now and be very organised! Again all papers and the sentiment are from the Big Fella range with bows and buttons added from my stash.

This card is one that I have made use of many times for the kids to give to their friends and for those all so difficult male cards! The image was coloured in the paint programme on my computer and I added some star gems and glamour dust for extra bling!

Finally a card more for the ladies, I downloaded a tree image from Pink Petticoat and used this with some other great papers that are available from this site. I added some buttons and gems to decorate the tree at thats it!

I am really enjoying using digi downloads at the moment so this won't be the last you see of these type of cards! I hope that whatever you are doing you have a great week!

Whats on Your Work Desk Wednesday!

Morning all! It's What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday again hosted by the fabulous Julia at Stamping Ground and this is what is on my desk today

Now the kids are back at school I am going to finish off a scrapbook page that I am doing for my son's bedroom. We have taken down his posters and are going to put things that are personal to him on there like photographs of days out and friends etc. He has a car theme in his room so I have downloaded some car digi papers from 2 Peas in a Bucket and will use them as backing and mount it all back on the poster frame.

This is a close up of my desk

I received a lovely thank you card from Paula yesterday so that is in the middle of my desk where I can look at it as it makes me smile. Its a lovely card and I am very grateful for her taking the time to make it when she is not fully recovered yet!

The tulips are from my hairdresser as she came round to do our haircuts yesterday. She has been my hairdresser for 10 years and in the early years I used to have to take the kids with me when I needed a haircut, needless to say it was a bit stressful as most of the things I used to bring to amuse them ended up on the floor and  she kindly suggested that she could come to my house if it was easier. Well that was about 5 years ago and she now comes round once a month and we have a glass of wine and some snacks and a good gossip, much better than trying to control the kids at the hairdressers!

My final photo today is of the caterpillars so if you are eating look away now!

My youngest is very excited that they have started to make their cocoon so we will be moving them gently into the butterfly garden very soon. Next week we may have photo's of butterflies after which we will be setting them free!  The only thing I am worried about is what he will be into next, we have done worms already, he seems to be a bit obsessed with earwigs at the moment!

I will make my way round to see what's on your work desks later and see what you have been upto. Have a wonderful week!

Some Cards at Last!

Hi all, I hope that you have been having a great week! We have been out and about on our last week of the Easter Holidays and have been grateful for the weather, it may have been a little cold at times but we haven't had much rain!

I thought I would post a few of the things that I have made over the last couple of weeks that were not made with the kids!

I made this butterfly card with a gift box and gift voucher for my friend to give to his mum for her birthday. The main butterfly punch is from x-cut and the butterfly punch that I made the voucher for was from Martha Stewart. The butterfly was mounted on some lovely green indian paper and I printed the Happy 70th Birthday around the outside on the computer.

I also made a manly version of a card using my Kanban tree stamp. The colours are all black, silver and white, do you think this works?

I made this little gift bag cut on my cricut machine for my friend and put a gift card inside.

And lastly, I made this card for my friend to give to her parents for their wedding anniversary.

The image is from microsoft and I changed the colour to black and grey and then added little heart gems on the inside.  I put three layers of ribbon underneath and the sentiment was also printed from the computer.

All of the backrounds on my cards were printed from a wash digital paper from Pink Petticoat.

Well I can hear the kids have woken up so I am off, one of them is screaming upstairs and I'm not sure if it's with laughter or pain, wish me luck!!!

Yes, my little boy has moved on from worms and we are now growing caterpillars for our butterfly garden.  I have also been looking after this fella for a couple of weeks whilst my friend recovered from an operation.

Chocolate

So to WOYWW, in case you have no idea what I am talking about WOYWW is hosted by the incredibly talented and witty Julia at Stamping Ground. You post a photo of your desk so that everyone can have a look at what you have made or are in the process of making etc, its great fun to see what everyone else is upto and a great way to meet lots of lovely crafters.

Anyway my desk looks like this today due to the fact that my friend and I went to Ally Pally on Sunday and had a lovely craft shopping day, bliss!

I haven't made much but I have still managed to find room for more stash! Here's a close up..

We are having friends round for a play this morning and some lunch and then this afternoon the kids are going to their grandparents. At this point I shall be making myself a nice cup of tea (with digestives of course) and having a look at your desks today..Can't Wait!

Have a great week!
